Rep. Pillich Introduces legislation to help identify veterans Veterans Tax Form ID
State Representative Connie Pillich (D-Montgomery) introduced legislation today to help Ohio veterans receive their Ohio Veterans Bonus.
The Ohio Veterans Bonus provides a small cash bonus to those Ohioans who served in Iraq, Afghanistan, or the Persian Gulf. There is also a cash benefit for those who served in support of those conflicts, as well as a death benefit for the families of those who did not make it back home.
"In spite of the overwhelming support of the Veterans Bonus at the ballot box in 2009, we've found that many eligible veterans are still unaware of this important benefit," said Rep. Pillich. "Time is running out to apply. This bill will help spread the word to those who served our nation in time of war."
House Bill 166 will permit veterans to identify themselves on their Ohio tax return. The Ohio Department of Veterans Services can then help these service members apply for the veterans bonus.
"Our veterans have earned this bonus, and Ohioans overwhelmingly want them to receive it. House Bill 166 will allow more of these heroes to obtain the benefits they deserve."

Electric and Gas Aggregation
The City of Sharonville’ energy consultant, The Utilities Group, has provided an update on the implementation process for the electric and gas aggregation opt-out programs. The improvements include widening Fields Ertel Rd. at the Copperfield/Indian Walk intersection to construct left turn lanes in both directions, build a retaining wall on the south side of the road just east of Copperfield Dr., reprofile the hump in the road to improve visibility of oncoming traffic and install storm sewers, curbs, catch basins and sidewalks for better control of storm water. In this same project, Hamilton County will be repaving Reed Hartman Highway approximately 185 feet south of Fields Ertel Rd.
This project will continue from the Princeton School and Road project on Chester Rd. north to the Convention Center traffic signal intersection. The Chester Road Project is designed to widen Chester Rd. to include left turn lanes north and south at the Greenwood intersection. All utilities on Chester Rd. north of the Greenwood intersection will be put underground. Greenwood Ave. will also be widened to include a left turn lane into the new Princeton High School entrance. All three streets will include storm drainage improvements, new curbs and sidewalks, and new street lighting and traffic signals.
The Greenwood-Lippelman intersection in Glendale will be closed to through traffic starting April 22, 2013 and re-open on June 1, 2013. Greenwood Ave. from Lippelman to Chester Rd. will be closed to through traffic from June 3, 2013 to July 25, 2013; however, access to the new Princeton School entrance and the Queen City Racquet & Fitness Club will be maintained.
When the project is complete, Greenwood Ave.’s name will change to Lippelman Ave. on the west side of Chester Rd. and to 1 BAPS DR. on the east side of Chester Rd.
Tentative completion date of this project is November 22, 2013.

The City of Sharonville has instituted the CodeRED Emergency Notification System - a high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications. This system allows us to telephone all or targeted areas of the City in case of an emergency situation that requires immediate action (such as a boil-water notice, missing child or evacuation notices).The system is capable of dialing 50,000 phone numbers per hour. It then delivers our recorded message to a live person or an answering machine, making three attempts to connect to any number.
THIS SYSTEM WILL ONLY BE USED FOR EMERGENCY PURPOSES.
Examples of times when the CodeRED system could be utilized:
Drinking water contamination
Utility outage
Evacuation notice & route
Missing person
Fires or Floods
Bomb threat
Hostage situation
Chemical spill or Gas leak
and other emergency incidents where rapid and accurate notification is essential for life safety.

Mill Creek Confluence Project
The wetland creation and stream restoration project is located in the Upper Mill Creek (UMC) watershed where the East Fork Mill Creek flows into the Mill Creek main stem at the confluence of the Mill Creek’s main stem and the East Fork of Mill Creek within sight of the I-75 and I-275 interchange. The 25 acre site will become a new stream-side park.
