Starting this Monday, February 22nd, Hauck Road will be closed to thru-traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for approximately 5 days. This summer, Hauck Road will be widened to include a middle left-turn lane, which will help relieve traffic congestion and improve safety. Sidewalks will also be added to the north side of the road. Improvements to US 42 will also occur. Although construction will start this summer, to prepare for the project, tree removal on Hauck Road has to occur now, due to environmental restrictions pertaining to the Indiana Bat. Since the Indiana Bat is an endangered species, and federal funds are being used on this project, tree removal cannot occur during certain months of the year. Updates will be posted as appropriate.
