  • No, the court is presided over by a magistrate who is certified by law to hear and determine cases filed in Mayor’s Court.

  • No. Your continuance must be signed in  person on or before the court date at the top center of the citation. You can receive one continuance, so if you have already had one then you will need to appear in court to request another.

  • Certain traffic violations and criminal offenses can be  paid out and you do not have to appear in court, if the “Personal Appearance Required” box in the upper part of the citation is not marked “YES”.    You can call the office to confirm if a payout or personal appearance is required. You can pay your citation in person, by mail, by phone or online by credit card (Visa/MasterCard/Discover/AMEX).

  • If you have been cited for one of the following offenses, you are REQUIRED to appear in court on the date listed on the bottom of your citation: 1. Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs 2. Leaving the scene of an accident (hit-skip) 3. No operator’s license: not licensed to drive: license expired OVER six (6) months. 4. Driving under ANY suspensions 5. Wrongful Entrustment (allowing a person under suspension to operate your motor vehicle. 6. A third (3rd) moving violation within a one-year period. 7. All First, Second, Third and Fourth Degree Misdemeanor charges.
