Legacy Program

One incredible resource that we are privileged to enjoy is our fabulous parks. The setting and atmosphere always provide an opportunity for the community to come together. Echoing sounds of a warm summer picnic, a spring softball game, an autumn football scrimmage, or a lively game of soccer, this grand resource is indispensable. As countless generations continue to embrace activities within recreation, families are looking for ways to incorporate fond memories of their deceased loved ones.

In order to honor their memory, residents are finding that a donation to their neighborhood park or community center is a wonderful way to show respect, reminisce and remember in a way that is special to them. This consideration is known as the Sharonville Legacy Program. It is an opportunity that creates a loving avenue in which families and friends can honor the memory of a loved one.

Oftentimes, families may seek a legacy that is specific in nature to be displayed with a plaque. Ornamental trees or flowering shrubs may be planted in a particular area that holds meaning to the family. Perhaps a bench or a landscape boulder is added to the grounds or beds. It is also possible to place a plaque on an existing tree or on the handrail of a bridge to honor those who are no longer with us. Other avenues of memorial interest are donations, memorials, and bequests. Families enjoy the flexibility of designating the direction of their donation to the center or park; perhaps, to a particular age group.

Regardless of the financial consideration of the family, the Sharonville Recreation Department keeps an open mind when approached with a request for remembrance. It is our willingness to listen to, appreciate, and respect the requests of the family. It is through this program that the warm memories we cherish of our deceased loved ones continue to fill our community with a legacy of love.
